Dear all,
Next week we’d have an unusual session of a show debate at the Eurooppasali (Pohjois Esplanadi 31). Our older members would perform a debate on a topic : ‘Should the EU expand its borders only based on economic requirements?’
Come to the venue at 18:30 on Tuesday October 5th and indulge yourself with an interesting debate as well as a rigorous discussion among the audience afterwards!
Needless to say, we’d all proceed to the bar once it’s all over 
Let’s continue rolling the ball for the DebSoc after such a fantastic first ‘proper’ debate session!
Next meeting will be held on Tuesday 21.09 at 18:30 in Cajsa (New Student House, Mannerheimintie 5B, 4th floor).
The topic of the debate is ‘This House Would Prevent Parents From Raising Their Children in a Particular Religious Faith’.
We hope to see many of our old and new members there and maybe some brave soul would actually debate for the first time on Tuesday! Sweet surprise for those who do
The season had a wonderful start with plenty of people showing up for our show debate. What’s even better is that most of the people stayed with us in the bar until quite late hours for a weekday

Welcome back to school and to the well-established tradition of a show debate!
This year the University of Helsinki Debating Society will again offer to watch a lively debate by our old members for the public to see and engage with. The debate will take place on Tuesday September 7th at 18:30 in Mannerheim-sali (New Student House, Mannerheimintie 5 A, top floor).
The subject for the debate is: ‘Does China offer a better development model than the West?’
Come and watch the debate, take part in the discussion afterwards and come to the bar later on to chat over drinks with us!
