We are all back to school and so is our DebSoc! Come join us for the first debate of the year to be held on Tuesday 18th January at 18:00 in Eurooppasali (Pohjois Esplanadi 31). Check out the event on facebook. The motion for the debate is ‘This House Would Forcibly Settle The Roma’.

As promised, this Thursday 14.10 we’re going to have a workshop by an invited guest from Estonia. The workshop will take place this at 18:00 in Cajsa (Mannerheimintie 5B, 4th floor). The workshop will be about in-depth analysis of case-building and argumentation in debating and it will be given by a very experienced and accomplished debater from Estonia – Uve Poom. Among his many accomplishments, Uve won the European Debating Championship in 2007 in English as a second language category. Trust me, the workshop will be useful as much as it’s going to be fun.
Note: workshops are the only things you have to pay for in this society so please make sure you have 4 EUR in cash to pay at the door. Judging from our previous experiences, this will be money well spent
